Founded in November 2014

A small crowd gathers in the sunshine for the opening ceremony

On 15th July 2018, a fine sunny Sunday, the latest project of Ringstead Heritage Group was launched - a visitor centre where they can display items of interest, pictoral histories of the village, groups, history and buildings. They plan to add a research area where people can work.

The four people most involved have been John Abbott, Roger Kinsey, Bob Linnitt, and recently retired Simon Conway. They have done a fine restoration of the little chapel at the cemetery ground, in Station Road, in just three months! The parish council supported the group, to bring the building back to life after it has been laying derelict for years.

Heritage Group Logo "Keeping Ringstead's Past Alive"
Formed in November 2014 the group are committed to preserving, recording and sharing information about Ringstead's rich past. The group now have a building to share with the public. We are keen to include other organisations and individuals wanting to find out more about the rich history and ancestry within the village. We anticipate this will be a valuable resource for local schools and other associated organisations involved with history/heritage and the environment.

The Old Chapel, at the cemetery, Station Road is now open as Ringstead's Heritage Centre. Help is needed to make the centre a huge success. The group would welcome anyone who would like to help with this venture. We hope you will want to get involved and support future events.
