83 High Street South (1921 - 1965)
John Eden was born at Grendon in 1867, and his wife Sophia Anne (nee Bates) was also born there. Their first daughter, Bertha, was born at Grendon about 1888, and soon after her birth they came to Rushden. They lived at 14 Moor Road, where they had another daughter, Olive, followed by three sons, Charles, Percy and Robert.
John took over a factory at 65 Moor Road, and for a short time they had another factory in Station Road.
After the War the company expanded and moved to 83 High Street South. John and his daughter, Olive, would set off to walk to the new works daily.
Sophia died in 1924, and John died in 1954.
