Early Vehicles
in Rushden
John Clipson, inventor, engineer and businessman, is thought to have owned the first car in Rushden.
John Clark, shoemanufacturer and brickmaker, who instigated the electricity company, also had a car in 1907. John also sent a parcel to his chauffeur in 1914, when he enlisted in the Royal Field Artillery.
