Newsclips - Bedfordshire Villages
The first extracts are from the Wellingborough News 1882, later from the Rushden Echo, and may be added to from time to time. They include events, parish meetings, school, church, accidents, obituaries and sales.
At that time great changes were happening in all parishes, as they became much more organised, and with the great strides in health and welfare following the growth in industries through mechanistation.
This was also the time when non-conformists were erecting new chapels.
Fundraising events are so well described they could be recreated now.
The formation of the school boards saw education for all and new schools.
