Mothers' Union

Rushden Echo, 27th February 1948, transcribed by Kay Collins

Chelveston - Children Sent Cards

Veils were worn by Mothers’ Union members who attended a Mothering Sunday service at Chelveston Parish Church on Sunday evening, and the Mothers’ Union banner was carried in procession by Mrs. Douglas Smith, Mrs. Albert Morris and Mrs. Dunnett.

An address was given by the Rev. F. Taylor, Rector of Stanwick and Mrs. Williams, the enrolling member of the Mothers’ Union, played the organ.

Children of the village had sent their mothers greeting cards supplied, on behalf of the Mothers’ Union, by Mrs. Parris.
