Newton Bromshold and Court Estate Women’s Institute

Bromshold Social
About 40 members and friends attended the Newton Bromshold and Court Estate Women’s Institute annual supper and social. The social was held in the Hut on Saturday, and entertainment was provided by Mr. C. Jones and his party, which included Mr. F. Jones (baritone) and Miss Gillian Desborough (soprano).

A fancy dress competition, representing song titles, was won by: 1 Miss E. Boddington, Little Old Lady; 2 Miss J. Lines (Lady of Spain); 3 Mrs. G. J. Bletsoe, A Roving Vagabond; 4 Mrs. A. Lines and Mrs. G. Lines, A-Hunting We Will Go.

Newton Women's Institute
The monthly meeting of Newton Bromshold and Court Estate Women's Institute was held in the Hut. Mrs. Bletsoe presided and Mrs. Sumpter gave a talk on home nursing. A competition was won by Mrs. Stocker, Mrs. Wakefleld, Mrs. Watford and Mrs. Payne and Mrs. Allen were chosen delegates for the annual meeting at Northampton. Mrs. Graham and Mrs. Willmott will go to the annual meeting in London. Hostesses for the evening were Mrs. Gadsden and Mrs. Mills.
