Electric Light On Monday last Mr. A. Marriott, engineer, of Higham Ferrers, erected a lamp in front of his residence. It has been lit up each evening this week, and has attracted much attention. The lamp is on the arc system, and is of between 3,000 and 4,000 candle power. Mr. Marriott does not work it direct from the dynamo, but has 25 accumulators of 2 volts each. These are sufficient to supply his residence inside and out for some eight or ten days. At the meeting of the Lighting Committee of the Council on Wednesday evening, the advisability of having a similar lamp erected on the Cross was discussed, but no action was taken.
