Fire at Charles Parker's Factory

On 21st September 1905 a fire at Charles Parker's factory. 500 persons were thrown out of employment.

The postcard (left) was posted at 9.30pm on the 25th September 1905.

It was sent Totternoe, Bedfordshire, and the message from Ada to Lily reads:

“I have sent you a photo of the ruins of a factory which got burnt last week, it was last Thursday morning about half past one. I got up and went to see it about qtr to two and did not get back while half past six time enough to go to work.”
