Higham School Girls’ Unique Performances

Laura and Muriel Middleton, are the daughters of Mr S Middleton, fireman, of Higham Ferrers. Laura has medals and bars for the completion of seven years’ regular attendance at school, and Muriel has completed eight years of full attendance.

Both would have made ten years’ attendances if their brother had not contracted an infectious disease and so made it impossible for them to go to school for a fortnight. The younger girl, Muriel, has been recommended by the Education Committee for a special award.
