Nurse Reynolds

Highest Award - Hospital's Gold Medal

Highest award of the Northampton General Hospital, the Loder Gold Medal has been bestowed upon Nurse Mrs. Joyce Reynolds (nee Glenister), of Higham Ferrers, in recognition of a continuously high standard of practical and theoretical nursing over a training period of four years, in which not less than 80 per cent of marks had to be gained in all examinations.

The medal had not been awarded to anyone during the last six years. It was presented by the Marchioness of Northampton at the annual prizegiving on Saturday, and there was a cash award of £5 5s.

Educated at Rushden Intermediate School, Nurse Reynolds worked at the British United Shoe Machinery Company's office in Rushden and was a member of the Higham Ferrers St. John Nursing Division before joining the hospital staff in April, 1941. She is now the staff nurse of the Gribble Ward.

Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. Glenister, 30, Corporation Terrace, Higham Ferrers, she has married during the war Sgt. Anthony Reynolds, R.A.F., of Rushden.
