Cricket & Sports at Knuston - Combined Brigade Rally
A combined field rally of district Boys' Life Brigades, with the junior departments joining in, was held in the grounds of Knuston Hall, by kind permission of Mr C A K Green, on Saturday afternoon.
The following companies were present: 1st Rushden Methodists under Lieutenant Reynolds, 2nd Rushden Baptists, under Leader Alderman, 1st Higham Ferrers, under Lieutenant R Blackwell, and members from Raunds.
The programme opened with a cricket match, the different companies forming two sides, and tea followed. Sports were held in the evening, and prizes were presented as follows:
Boys' flat race (under 10 years), 1 A Warner, 2 J Robinson; over 10 years, 1 H Childs, 2 C Harris; high jump (under 10 years), 1 J Ainsworth, 2 O Payne; over 10 years, 1 R King, 2 N King; three-legged race, 1 G Bailey, 2 M Goode.
Mr Green gave a short talk at the close.
