Brown Fletton

The marriage took place at St. Mary’s, Higham Ferrers, on Monday, the Rev. H. J. Fry officiating, of Miss Lilian Fletton, eldest daughter of Mr. F. W. Fletton (hairdresser) & Mrs. Fletton, of 3, School-place, Higham Ferrers, and Mr. John Sidney Brown, third son of Mr. and Mrs. George Brown, of John-street, Rushden. The bride wore a pretty dress of white satin with bridal veil, and wreath of orange blossom, and carried a bouquet of white sweet peas, stocks, pink carnations, gypsophilia, and asparagus fern, the gift of the bridegroom. Her jewellery consisted of a gold chain and pendant, also the gift of the bridegroom. The bridegroom, who is a well-known local footballer, wore a gold signet ring, the gift of the bride. Several years ago he was a member of the choir at St. Mary’s Church, Rushden.

The bride was given away by her father, and was attended by two bridesmaids Misses Ella Brown (sister of the bridegroom) and Maud Fletton (sister of the bride).
