Young Rushden's Holiday Haunt

Paddling at Ditchford
The Rushden Echo & Argus carried this picture on August 9th 1940. The caption reads: A peaceful afternoon at Ditchford, where children and campers have had a lot of simple pleasure this week.

The area around Ditchford bridge over the river Nene was a favoured haunt for children.
They would play or paddle, but always arrived home in time for their tea.
