Rushden School - Choir

Citizen Action Lines Kettering 1st April 1993

Songs of Praise For Choir
Months of rehearsals after lessons earned success for the Rushden School Choir.

The students (right) performed This Little Babe by Benjamin Britten and The Lord is My Shepherd by Schubert at the Oundle Music Festival on Friday.

The performance won them the under-19 schools section and the Mrs George Brudenell Cup, which was presented at a special ceremony on Saturday.

Music teacher Geraldine Brill who played the piano, phoned the Citizen with the result. She said: "It's absolutely wonderful. We have been rehearsing three times a week. They are singing outside the telephone box now."

It is the first time the school has entered since the former Chichele and Pemberton schools merged.
