There are few towns in the country that can boast of having made such great headway as Rushden during the past few years. On all hands we see signs of progress.

New factories are being erected, pasture land has been converted into well laid out streets, and the population has increased so fast as to have doubled itself in the last ten years. 

Last year no less than 284 plans for houses and eleven factories were passed, and at the last Urban Council meeting a batch of 36 plans received the approval of that body.
